7/7/2008 - HONEYWELL’S DOLPHIN® 9900 DELIVERS THE LATEST DATA CAPTURE, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION AND GPS CAPABILITIES

Combination of Robust Features and Ergonomic, Rugged Design Optimized for the Industrial Mobile Worker

Eindhoven, The Netherlands – July 3, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announces its new Dolphin® 9900 Mobile Computer. The Dolphin 9900 combines the latest data collection, communication, and location-based technologies with an ergonomic and durable design to help ensure intuitive use, reliability and enhanced productivity for workers in the field.

With integrated voice and data communication, GPS and advanced Adaptus® Imaging Technology for barcode scanning and picture taking, the Dolphin 9900 enables businesses to stay connected with their employees, their supply chain and their customers more effectively and more efficiently.

“Coming off the tremendous worldwide success of its predecessor, the Dolphin 9500, our target audience for the Dolphin 9900 remains customers who value a mobile computing platform that has the right blend of the latest technologies while providing comfortable and reliable use for the mobile worker all day long,” said Greg Payne, Product Marketing Manager, Mobility Systems, Honeywell Imaging and Mobility. “While many manufacturers have migrated to less durable PDA-like solutions, the Dolphin 9900 class of product is being adopted across all core vertical markets including transportation, retail, warehousing, logistics and healthcare. The 9900 fills a significant market requirement for a device built specifically to serve applications in harsh environments and requiring high levels of both barcode scanning and keypad data entry. Additionally, the Dolphin 9900 delivers full Shift Plus™ battery performance - 10+ hours - virtually eliminating the need to replace batteries during a work shift. You simply cannot find this optimized balance of performance, durability and ease of use from any other mobile computing manufacturer.”

The Dolphin 9900 is Honeywell’s first solution that enables customers to capitalize on the company’s lifecycle strategy for backwards compatibility. This platform allows customers using the  Dolphin 9500 to migrate to the next-generation Dolphin 9900 while keeping much of their legacy infrastructure—accessories, batteries and device peripherals—in place, creating the potential for significant cost savings. Additionally, user interaction with the Dolphin 9900 is nearly identical to that of its predecessor, reducing or eliminating requirements for user training and easing the migration of software applications onto the new device.

“Our goal is to earn customers for life,” said Garrison Gomez, Product Marketing, Honeywell Imaging and Mobility. “A major part of that strategy is creating a lifecycle model that makes it easy for a customer to upgrade to a next-generation solution. Through interface similarity and backwards compatibility with our previous generation device, we can help make migrating to the latest technology a less costly and less resource-intensive process for customers.”

The industrial-grade Dolphin 9900 is built to be an extremely reliable solution with a highly rugged design and advanced power management technology to ensure uninterrupted performance in heavy-use environments. Specifications include an IP64 rating, 5-foot drops to concrete and testing to withstand more than 2,000 3-foot tumbles.

The Dolphin 9900’s computing architecture is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile® 6 with an Intel® PXA 270 624 MHz processor with 256MB RAM x 1GB FLASH memory to ensure fast performance in data intensive applications. An integrated Wi-Fi certified 802.11b/g radio delivers real-time network access to mission-critical information and supports advanced wireless security standards. The Dolphin 9900 is Cisco CCX v4 certified and offers multi-mode wireless connectivity (GSM/GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth).

“Windows Mobile 6 enables businesses to mobilize their workforces and equip them with the applications they need to optimize productivity in the field,” said John O’Rourke, General Manager of the Mobile Communications Business, Microsoft Corp. “The Dolphin 9900 is a great example of a mobile device that leverages our software to empower industrial mobility customers globally with powerful customer service-enhancing capabilities.”

5/6/2008 - HONEYWELL RESPONDS TO CUSTOMER DEMAND WITH ISO CERTIFIED 2D AZTEC CODE

ISO Acknowledgement for Multipurpose Barcode

EINDHOVEN, HOLLAND, April 24, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the approval of the ISO status of the 2D Aztec code classified as "ISO/IEC 24778 - Information technology - Automatic identification and data capture techniques - Aztec Code bar code symbology specification".

The 2D Aztec code was originally developed by Hand Held Products, recently acquired by Honeywell. The Aztec code’s reliability and versatility make it ideal for applications in transportation, rail, healthcare and mobile ticketing.

Even though Aztec is a public domain code widely used across the world by large and small corporations, it is now ISO certified in response to demand. It is expected that large organizations and certain customer segments will value the fact that the code is now ISO certified.
“Having Aztec code ISO certified reinforces its true value and acknowledges its versatility.” said Roel Vreeburg, Senior VP and General Manager at Honeywell Imaging and Mobility, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

The Aztec 2D code has proved to be revolutionary since its introduction, offering multiple significant advantages compared to other 2D codes. The Aztec code enables orientation-independent scanning with no white space required beyond the boundaries of the code, so it can be easily used on any kind of background. Its finder pattern is in the middle of the code and the data is layered around it, which means the code can be placed on corners (of e.g. displays) and can still be read. The code also offers sophisticated error correction which accounts for better readability – even when extensively damaged, and it is on average the smallest 2D barcode available today.

“We have already witnessed enormous growth over the past few years in companies using the Aztec code in varying environments. The ISO certification will encourage more extensive use of this code,” said Taco van Weijen, Sales Manager OEM at Honeywell Imaging and Mobility EMEA.

  5/6/2008 - 2D-CODE AZTEC ERHÄLT ISO-KLASSIFIZIERUNG

Qualitätssiegel für vielseitigen Code zur Datenerfassung

Dortmund, 24.

1/30/2008 - Honeywell Has EuroShop In Its Sights

Honeywell Imaging and Mobility displays automatic data collection solutions for the retail industry at the EuroShop trade fair

DORTMUND, GERMANY, 30 January 2008 - Honeywell Imaging and Mobility (formerly Hand Held Products) is featuring its retail solutions for the first time at EuroShop, taking place in Dusseldorf from 23 to 27 February 2008. Amongst its trade fair exhibits, the data collection expert has an innovative product portfolio for the retail industry, which will be on display in Hall 6, Stand I48. Among the product highlights are 2D scanners, mobile computers and self-service terminals from the Image Kiosk series.

2D scanners are suitable for use at the point of sale (POS) and in retail warehouses. These imagers distinguish themselves with a high scanning speed and fast data processing. For example, they record printed documents - such as prescriptions for medicines or identity cards - with the help of an integrated digital camera and can easily recognise data under plastic packaging or other reflective materials.

The EuroShop presentation will also emphasize mobile computers from the Dolphin® series, which are especially proven in retail and warehouse environments that require high performance scanning. With an ergonomic design, Dolphin products are suited to tasks such as stock and price management, incoming and outgoing goods inspection (dispatching) and picking. The Dolphin 7900 GPS also has an integrated GPS (Global Positioning System) module and is one of the first its type proven for harsh working environments. The powerful and quick GPS architecture delivers exact location-related information for navigation and mobile tracking of goods, as well as documentation of field service activities and customer visits.

The Image Kiosks help the retail industry serve customers more efficiently thanks to the integrated functions that enable requesting information independently, as well as self-service. For example, customers can use the devices in the supermarket for price checking, retrieve additional product information and check their loyalty or bonus account. Plus, on the screen they can see promotional or advertising messages tailored to their profile, enabling a personalised approach to the customer.
